a ribbony sort of cake.

hi.
happy saturday.
here's the cake i mentioned a few days back.
it's plain génoise, vanilla buttercreme & rosehip crème patisserie

i think it has a bit of a ribbon feel,
a little like icing grosgrain.
i'm not completely happy with the result.
but, i now have a couple ideas for next time.
and am thinking i might start working a little on sugar ribbons again.

oh and i was thinking,
since i'm here and your there
and since that makes it so we can't really eat cake together.
maybe you'd like to have a virtual piece...
with that in mind, i put candles on it and i sliced it into 8 tiny little pieces:

one for pia, to congratulate her on the new book!
one for jen, for inspiring me to give pastries through photos.
one for celine, because her cat, mojo knows how to make pie.
one for p, cause she likes pandas & she's funny.
one for cerre, because her blog always inspires me.
one for mila, because her posts are pretty.
one for jane, because i like camp comfort.
and one for krista, because i really like this post.

if there wasn't one for you today,
that's just becasue i didn't know what your favorite type of cake was.
so tell, tell me what your favorite is.
and i'll be sure to save you a slice next time.

happy weekend friends.

The cake is amazing!!!
The grosgrain definitely looks like satin. You've done a stunning job.
I feel like this is a prelude to something much bigger?
