from yesterday.

hi.
how's everything so far today?
the sun is shining here
it's been a beautiful saturday.

yesterday was much the same,
the sun shone through my windows then too.
but, i stayed inside
oven on, windows open
mixer on high.
i made just less than 300 cupcakes.
carrot, chocolate, vanilla, banana & chocolate chip
cinnamon buttercream,
dark chocolate ganache
and creamy yellow custard.

after all of that, my day finished well
with
shish taouk & wheat beer with my friend k.
a pretty much perfect end to a busy week.

that is unless my week ended with
the little vacation i spoke of last week.
i'd take that as the perfect end to any week at all.
nevertheless it was still, pretty great.

happy weekend friends.

200 cupcakes! Whoa, that is quite the undertaking! Of course, a master baker like you took it in a stride, I'm sure. As ever, they look fantastic.

nikole,
gorgeous! can i boldly ask you which frosting recipe you used for the lovely swirl...my buttercreams have been "puddle-y" don't know if it is the tropics? or just me...
best wishes!

nikole said...

hi everyone! thank you.

tammy, hi! how are you? i think it's the weather, not you. i'm afraid the recipe i use would likely go all puddly down there too. i used to have a recipe that substituted a little shortening to get away from that, i can see if i can find it. it would probably hold up down there, but the taste isn't nearly as nice as with all butter. :)

You do such beautiful work. You are my idol. I am tryin to self-teach myself cake decorating...it's going okay ;)

Do you ever provide any tutorials? I would be so interested in checking them out. Do you do this as a hobbby, or are you a professional decorator?
