some girly frocks for summer from ba&sh.

the petal collection is a limited set of spoons.


carved with
the fuzzy buds of magnolia,
the stiff green leaves of tulips
and pale petals
of early apple blossoms in mind.


they are intricate and pretty
and just perfect for spring.

an aside:

it's amazing to me really, each time a new box of spoons arrives in my mailbox.
i am in wonderment.
my dad tells me that the wood in some way determines the shape of each individual spoon.
as though he doesn't decide at all, and you know i just can't imagine it.
but in some way i understand, and in so many ways i think it's great.

hello.

i think you might know i grew up on the west coast of canada, very near to the ocean.
i spent most of of my childhood weekends at our summer cabin on qualicum beach.
[the town site]


the photo above was taken in tofino about 4 hours away.

it's really lovely there.
last time i went we passed by two small bear cubs playing in brush to the side of the road,
it was amazing. they were so cute.

i long for a trip there again soon. i'd like to smell the ocean air and feel the cold sand on the soles of my feet.
