you guessed it, my dad has been busy again!
so, a new arrival to my shop tomorrow.
introducing the
herriott grace pedestal plate



one solid piece of beautifully grained wood
no screws, no nails, no glue, no adhesive of any kind
hand turned and i think, pretty darn perfect.


i have just two for now
but, they are stunning.

since i've been away

since i've been away

i've spent time on streets i don't know
in cafes along roads i've never seen.


i've been in churches with flickering light
in buses with little air conditioning
in both cities i've before visited and not.



i've looked at maps,
eaten ice cream,
fed carrots to horses
sipped on sparkling drinks
eaten spicy foods
and visited both friends old & new.




i've ridden in taxis that drive far too fast
and some too that drive just a little bit slow.
i've danced, i've eaten
i've seen sun shine sparkle on windows.
and i've gained 5 pounds.



i've peered out oval windows
and looked into round mirrors.



i've had the sun shine on my face.
and the wind through my hair.
i've had rain dot my glasses
i've opened my eyes wide for the take off of planes
and closed them again for the calm of a train.



i've turned the music loud in rental cars
and sailed through rainy waters.
and i've felt really lucky.




short and sweet.
and excellent all the same.


i'm happy to be back,
and i'm looking forward to the weeks to come.


i hope you've been well.
and i haven't missed too much.
