on roads trips for summer and days at the beach.

hiya!
it's me, hello.
my parent's hen's had chicks this weekend.
fluffy and dreamy and tiny balls of soft.
cutest little things ever. love.

___

and the weather has been perfect here.
bright skies and spring air full of happy.
i've been thinking a little of the days to come.
[no change there]
of the road trips of summer
and the things we do, when it's hot.
and i've thought up a plan.

 ___

when the days turn to summer,
i'm going to wash my face to the early morning sun.
and open my window to listen for birds.

i'm going to slip each leg, into my favorite pair of shorts.
the ones with cream and strips and soft navy lines.
i'm going to pull on my flips, the ones from last year,
and shimmy a tank on, over my head.

i'm going to pull a brush through the dark of my hair,
and dust on my cheeks, round colours of red.
i'm going to pack my bag like it's meant to be done.
with light pants, and summer sweaters, and small t-shirts of cotton.

i'm going to step out my door to a day full of sun,
camera in hand and hair in a bun.
i'm going to drive down the coast and see lots of things.
i'm going to bounce into markets, old trailer and car.
i'm going to pop into shops and stores that sell malts.

and i'm going to eat lots of watermelon and spit out the seeds

i'm going to drink tea with ice, my feet on the sand.
and i'm going to go to town for dinner,
and be to bed before ten.

i'm going sip lots of beer and have lots of laughs.
and i'm going to make fires from sticks, that i collect from the beach.

__

and you know what else,
my brother had this car when we were kids.
and my grandparents a trailer almost the same.
today, i wish i had the both.
and i wish we were setting off on this journey for real.
what do you think? you in?
there's still seats left in the car,
but you'll have to bring snacks.

i'll be around on friday.
we can make concrete plans then.

happy trails friends.
xox, n.

the back of this dress. amazing.
i keep returning to this one.

necessities of my future home: a tearoom and a greenhouse. just saying.
and i like windows that open this way. universe, are you listening?
if so, how about also, a place like this, down the street.

the photos:
compliments of teppei.
thank you, sir!
they really are, so totally beautiful.
it's like i was standing right there.
i love that.

[hg news]

plus, we're planning an update,
april 25 i think.
i've got good stuff here.
pedestals and cheeseboards and other things made from wood.
plus, almost all of the clouds are here now,
so if you already bought one, you can expect it soon.
sorry about the delay on those.
sometimes, well i don't know.
sometimes, things happen i guess.

and thank you to everyone that has emailed.
i'm overwhelmed by your kindness.
thank you. really.
i'll try to have enough clouds for all of you.
if you'd like to join the list
it's here.

Where have you been? It's funny how I click on your site everyday looking for a cool photograph or some words that paint pictures in my mind. Thanks for the post today.

The sun is shining in LA. It's going to be a little warmer today and I am going to make pizza in my wood burning oven. What more could I ask for.

well, what a lovely little mini-vacances, this was. dreamy, that volvo, most especially. enjoy the shorts, and the chicks, and the crackle of beach-wood fires. (and oh my, the double exposure. lovely, that)
