on moments

hello!
happy midsummer
this past weekend i spent
away from the sea.
smack in the middle
of our ontario summer.
i had one of those weekends
where summer feels
almost like a dream
as though it's here now
of our ontario summer.
i had one of those weekends
where summer feels
almost like a dream
as though it's here now
but could be gone tomorrow.
the kind of weekend where
you come to appreciate moments
for what they really are,
fleeting and precious and so very grand.
i'm sure you know the kind i mean.
those filled with good friends
and good food.
the kind where memories
are easily built.
the kind where memories
are easily built.
and moments
easily remembered.
the kind when
you eat ice cream from cones
and corn from cobs.
when you drink beer from mugs
and listen to music
from the grass.
from the grass.
the kind when
all the small moments
piled together
really come to matter.
and you know what
it reminded me
it reminded me
that life is, in large part,
just a collection of moments.
a collection of moments
that lead to a collection of events
that then lead to the stories
that make up our lives.
and while that's a simple thought
i still think it's pretty grand.
that make up our lives.
and while that's a simple thought
i still think it's pretty grand.
the photos you see here
are from a weekend just like that.
one that has passed now
are from a weekend just like that.
one that has passed now
but where we sat by the sea.
where we drank tequila
and rowed boats.
where we ate great food
and had a good lot of laughs.
and where most of all
we had those kinda of moments
that turn so easily to memories.
the kind that i
and i think it fair to say, we all
come to cherish.
that's all for today friends.
BIG THANKS for all your NYC recommendations, keep 'em coming!
